We had 15 volunteers come out today and we welcomed Sandy and her son Cody this morning. We hope they will return for future surveys as Cody’s school schedule permits. Cody was very enthusiastic and very concerned that I counted and marked the species correctly. Thank you Cody for keeping me on the ball and let me know if I made any mistakes.
Of note was a Blue Grosbeak, a Shipley first. Our resident birds seem to be doing well and the grounds at Shipley are delightful to walk through. There is so much evidence of tender loving care given by the staff and garden caretakers. Monarch caterpillars, chrysalis, and butterflies are all over Shipley.
Much thanks to the dedicated birders who come out and survey each month to collect data for Shipley and the birding community.
Enjoy the attached survey!
